6% of Rental
12% of rental
Minimum: 25% of rental cost. Beyond that, it depends.
We will try to re-book the condo. See details below.
No Refunds
Details: In attempting to re-book the vacation home
to fill dates left by a cancellation we would take the
same approach to the vacant dates that we would
in trying to fill the dates at any other time. For
example, if we have 2 months to fill a week during
high season, we would attempt to book at full price.
If we have just 3 weeks to fill dates we would likely
have to discount to have a chance to fill the dates,
especially during mid or low season. But the point is,
we would do our very best to fill the dates for you.
If we are able to fill part or all of the newly vacant dates
that resulted from a cancellation we would credit
your charge card 75% of the funds received from the
new rental.
We understand that no one books a vacation with an intention of canceling. This is a time
to be excited with anticipation!
Vacation cancellations are almost always due to some sort of very unexpected new development
over which our guest or guests have no control.
When booking a regular hotel room or suite, the hotel can almost always find another guest to
fill the vacancy resulting from a cancellation. However, the vacation homes we offer are very
unique products that require a lot work to create new bookings. As our future guests, you are
putting forth a good faith deposit or paying in full, depending on how far out your booking is.
On the other hand, we are taking a very unique product off the market and turning away business
for anyone inquiring about the dates you have booked.
We feel that we have a very fair and forward thinking way of approaching a cancellation.
To our knowledge, we are the only company in the vacation home rental business who offer
our guests such a method. This method potentially allows for our guests to receive money back
by our successful work in re-booking the vacation home. We want every guest of ours to be happy,
even if they can’t make the trip. So we make every effort possible to help out our future guests
in the event of needing to cancel a reservation.
We do also highly recommend travel insurance to our future guests. We have researched
travel insurance costs and have found AIG to be the most competitive on a consistent basis.
On the bottom of this page there is an option to get a travel insurance quote from AIG via a link
to their site. We receive no compensation from AIG or any other entity or person from referring
AIG to our guests. If you have worked with AIG or another travel insurance company and you
would like to share that experience, please email us this information and we will post it to this page.
Travel insurance covers both travel and lodging expenses for virtually any potentiality. However,
the travel insurance providers have “been burned” by people of poor integrity signing up for the
insurance. These people premeditate the whole affair for the purpose of getting paid money for
a claim on a vacation they never intended on taking. For this reason, when you go to get your
travel insurance quote it is important that you enter the information relative to how much money
you have committed to the vacation that is non-refundable. This question is present tense.
In other words, the question is not “how much money will be non refundable?” but rather,
“how much is non refundable at the moment you want the quote?” This question does not mean
you will only be covered for how much money you currently have into the vacation that is non
refundable. To the contrary, they are covering the cost of the entire vacation for more eventualities
than you could probably think of. However, if you enter a large number into the quote screen for
“enter the amount of non-refundable deposits you have given” the quote will be much higher than
necessary. This confusing factor is all due to an unscrupulous few.
Detailed cancellation policy is shown below.
But first, the answer to a frequently asked cancellation question....
“Do we get a refund in the event of a hurricane?”
Yes.
However, if a hurricane is out at see and is days away and “forecasted” to hit Cancun, that
would not necessarily constitute a refund. If flights get canceled for your trip due to a
pending hurricane, your lodging would be refunded 100%. If you are actually in Cancun on
vacation and a hurricane occurred, the portion of your stay while a hurricane occurred, and any time
you were in Cancun on vacation after the hurricane occurred, would be 100% refunded. If
you have travel insurance, which does also cover hurricanes, the insurance company would then
reimburse the cost. You would not receive a “double refund” in this case.
Important Note: When you enter in the “trip cost” per person, the information they are looking for is
only how much money have you already put down towards your vacation that is non-refundable. So
under “trip cost” only enter the non-refundable amount you have already put down on your vacation.
If you actually click on “trip cost” a box will appear verifying that this is what is to be entered in these
boxes. Also, if you go with the “gold package” please note that children of the primary insured that
are 17 and under are free. The cost per adult should come to about $32-$38 per person for the
whole vacation.
